The stretch of coastline that runs down Costa Rica's Pacific side contains patches of rainforest and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world--all easily accessible from the Interamerican Highway.

Keeping away from the more crowded spots, you can enjoy more discrete beaches, nature trails, and see real tropical wildlife on display--sometimes right outside your bedroom. Expect an abundance of monkeys, parrots, and sloths.
